I have three brothers and grew up a tomboy, preferring Hotwheel cars, climbing trees, baseball, and going into the woods with my brothers to hair braiding and Barbie Doll tomfoolery.

I initially entered undergrad with the goal of becoming a neurologist or some kind of surgeon. I have always enjoyed futzing with computers even more.

I was an Explorer Scout of the Adventure variety, so I have done a lot of backpacking, climbing, snow shoeing, and general outdoor survival and recreatiional activities. I know how to triangulate on a map and carry 55lbs on my back.
Nobody ever seems to be able to pin down my accent, but I can explain it: way too much literature reading, midwestern parents, 20 years in southern california, 3.5 years in Texas, and a propensity to not want to talk like anyone else.
